THANK YOU to everyone that reached out to provide their support and to share a kind word. Also, I appreciate you if you felt comfortable sharing with me that you are in the same boat and plotting what's next? I welcome these DMs and opportunities to strategize your new WHY for your career. I would also like to share with everyone going through this turbulent time that IT IS NOT YOUR FAULT. AND the answer is not to work harder than you already are working or going back to school and taking on more debt. Take a breather. Take a breath. These companies and agencies are not making these decisions based on your work performance. Increasing stock prices and winning the political narrative are the motivators of today.

I will always remember thinking I had a stay-at-home dad when I was 3 or 4 years old. My dad was laid off from NationsBank, now Bank of America. He was laid off after being a highly recruited Mathematics graduate and computer programmer. He was laid off after training 20 VPs in a freshman hiring class even though he had not yet been promoted to VP. Despite being the smartest guy in the room (and personable) it wasn't enough for the machine. So, he was laid off and luckily negotiated a severance package with health insurance for his wife and two small children. He went on to work successfully at other organizations, but he was laid off at least two more times throughout his career.

So what now? I don't have all the answers. But I do know that there is strength in COMMUNITY. The kids are growing up so I can be back in them Streets for a little bit LOL. I'm hosting a BOOK SIGNING and MONEY CHAT on June 7th in Washington, DC. Send me a DM or let me know in the comments if you want more information. xoxoxo
